Professor Leslie Hannah appointed as Distinguished Honorary Professor

Cardiff Business School is delighted to announce the appointment of Leslie Hannah to a Distinguished Honorary Professorship.

Professor Hannah is the UK’s most prominent Business Historian, with a record of publication and wider contribution to academic service that is truly outstanding and global in scope.

He has held positions at the universities of Oxford, Essex, Cambridge and Tokyo, the London School of Economics, EHESS in Paris, Ashridge Business School, and City University Business School. He has also spent time as a visiting scholar at Harvard and London Business School.

Professor Hannah is the author of a series of outstanding monographs on a variety of aspects of business history and his important book, The Whig Theory of Business is about to be published by Oxford University Press.

In addition to his record as a scholar, Professor Hannah has had an outstanding career in university service. He has been Dean of two of the UK’s leading Business Schools (City and Ashridge), and Pro-Director and Acting Director of the London School of Economics. He is a leading figure in the academic community.

Cardiff Business School will reap a number of benefits from Professor Hannah’s appointment. He will work closely with the School’s prominent group of business historians on research and writing projects. He will also teach students at Cardiff and offer mentoring to emerging academics and doctoral candidates.

Professor Hannah’s appointment reflects Cardiff Business School’s commitment to the teaching and research of business history and its global reputation in this important field of scholarship.
